Menu ProjectPlanning a menu is more difficult that you would expect. This project helped me better understand how to plan a balanced cycle menu and modify a menu to meet certain guidelines. As a group, we planned a six day cycle menu for a children's hospital specializing in care of children ages nine to thirteen. Our menu provided variety and allowed the children to choose what they would like to eat. We designed the menu to be fun and interactive by allowing the children to color on each page. With our menu, we created a spreadsheet that nutritionally breaks down each meal. The first three days of the menu were entered into a nutritional analysis software to determine if calories and RDAs were met. Menu modifications, such as adjusting servings sizes, were made as needed in order to meet specific recommendations.
