Food Service Management
I spent four weeks working with the management team at two different Intermountain facilities. During this time, I taught multiple inservices, ServSafe classes, and learned about the hospital food service system. During my first week, I was given a project that was developed based on the responses from a gallop survey. Customers complained of a lack of variety at the Apple a Day Cafe. In response to this complaint, I created a "Sandwich of the Day" program. This program added variety to the menu by providing a new grilled cheese sandwich each day. While working with the chef, I created a 2 week menu for the cafe. The program was implemented and immediate results were observed. Grilled cheese sandwich sales almost doubled and customers had only good things to say about the program. Below are examples of signage and the menu.
